Shop For Agent18 ClearShield Screen Protector for iPod touch 2G (Clear)

I've had this case for about a year at this point, and it's a good case. There are things that could be better about it, but you'll be satisfied. To start off with, it comes with a screen protector, which is very handy. You'll just want to make sure to read a guide on applying itouch screen protectors beforehand, because you'll want to do a good job of it so there isn't dust etc. stuck under the screen. The case attaches to the ipod very easily and intuitively, snapping around the edges, with a little opening at the top right to stick your nails in and pry it off for cleaning. The access to the ports is great, and I find that changing volume, putting it to sleep etc. is actually easier with the case on. You also have full access to the ports along the bottom (charging port, headphone) with the case on. I haven't tried putting it in a dock, but I think that works as well. The case is also very attractive, and the grip is perfect - it's smooth plastic, so it slides easily into or out of any pocket, but the plastic has slight bumping along the sides that is very comfortable and makes it grip well in your hand.

So right now you're probably thinking "wow, this sounds like the perfect case!" It would be, if it weren't for the only and fairly significant problem - protection. The case doesn't fit as tightly and isn't as strong as could be, and it also doesn't have rubber lining on the inside to provide a seal or provide further impact protection. What this means is that dirt, particles etc. can and does creep in from all angles - through the opening hole at the top right (which is stupidly not covered up, basically acting as a dirt portal in the case body), and under the rims of the case on the bottom, and along the sides. This isn't a dealbreaker per se, due to the fact that you can pretty easily pry the case open and clean out said dirt, particles etc. - but its a nuisance, and I'd rather not be prying open my ipod and cleaning it 1-2 times every week (you'll probably have to do it more often if you want absolutely zero chance of anything getting inside your ipod and scratching it). And even though I've been cleaning it that often and have had the case on my ipod 24/7, the back of my ipod has gotten scratched up alot. Granted, its way better then how it would be if I hadn't been using a case, but you can't help but wonder why they couldn't have put in some thin rubber grippings and made the case have a tighter seal. I actually suspect that the plastic of the case itself may be responsible for some of the scratches.

So to sum up:

Pros
+ Attractive
+ Great access to all ports and buttons
+ Easily taken on / off

Cons
- Bad protection (dirt and particles get in easily, nothing between your ipod and the plastic case)Get more detail about Agent18 ClearShield Screen Protector for iPod touch 2G (Clear).
