This is the first case I've actually used for my first iPod touch, but it is as near-perfect as I think it gets. I looked at several others in the store and more online, including the most common models (iHome, Belkin, etc). I am using this case on a 3G, 32GB touch.
My requirements:
- Anti-scratch plastic for screen
- Case sufficient to protect against little bumps
- Case has required holes to allow charging/syncing/headphones without needing removal
- Some sort of 100% coverage for screen as I tend to dump things in my pockets without keeping track of which hard objects are colocated with breakable LCD screens on phones or ipods
The case delivered on all of the above.
- The anti-scratch overlay went on fairly easy and hasn't come up/off after 2 weeks of use
- The rubber/silicone/whatever case itself is soft and anti-bump, plus feels comfortable in the hand AND has the holes in the right places
- The hard plastic cover is more than sufficient to protect the screen in my pocket, plus stows on the back side of the iPod so it won't get lost
The case only gets 4-stars for ease-of-use because the hard plastic cover is a little difficult to snap back into place; it is definitely a two-handed operation. But this is actually the only negative I have to report, and probably a good compromise against the need to stay put. I have not tried to use the case's ability to function as a "stand" as reported in the advertising.
With reasonable price (I paid about $20), if you need/want the hard screen cover, this case is an absolute buy in my mind! Shipping through the retailer on Amazon was really quick.Get more detail about Incipio Technologies SILICRYLIC Case for iPod touch 2G (Bluex).
