I was wondering whether I should spend the money for a transmitter or just buy a stereo with a port for an aux cable in case the transmitter didn't work well. After switching it into international mode I now use 87.7 or 87.9 and the sound is almost as good as CD quality. I also love the backlighting, presets, and the fact that I can leave my sansa in the car since it's always charged!
