We used an inexpensive 8" powered subwoofer with our Picoforte. I evaluated this combination using an iPod Nano with Apple loss-less ripped music files. I was blown away by the quality of the sound coming from this small system. The KEF speakers are great sounding and throw a nice soundstage. The included amp is great: surprisingly powerful, clean with no distortion. Full retail was kind of steep, but at this heavily discounted price this system is a tremendous bargain.
