the picture of the battery indicates 1700ma. the description says 1500ma. i have received a battery labeled 1500ma.
don't expect to plug this battery in and have it work immediately unless you already have a firmware that supports it. the battery has a controller circuit that seems to not be supported in the latest creative firmwares. for the 30GB Zen Vision:M, the last firmware to support batteries with extended life is 1.41.01. i had a tough time finding the older firmware, so i am providing 2 links that worked as of 2009-09-25:

the battery is much thicker than oem, so it was somewhat difficult to close the case shut, and it still leaves a slite open gap. there is some padding inside (on the side with the power switch) which can be filed down.
to downgrade, i needed the oem battery. powering thru USB alone is not sufficient to perform firmware change. i do not know about the power plug since i don't have it. the battery needs to have about half charge before the firmware program works. firmware change is also possible thru recovery mode which i did not experiment with.
once the firmware was downgraded, i swapped the batteries and the player powered up. i left it charging over nite and it seems to have charged fully. how long the battery will last remains to be seen.
if you prefer not to deal with this hassle, stick with OEM battery: LPCS285385; get the original and not something compatible.Get more detail about HQRP Replacement Battery for Creative Zen Vision M MP3 Player + Screwdriver for battery installation + HQRP Screen Protector.
