This is a very, very basic speaker to increase the volume you get out of your mp3 player. It's nothing more than a battery-powered speaker with an on-off switch, a small light, and a cord to plug into the mp3 player's audio output. It's important to note that **there is no dock**. Just a small ledge to rest the mp3 player on, with a slot that your player may or may not fit into. Also, no place to recharge your player, no power cord, no volume control (other than the control on your mp3 player). But for $15, you can hardly complain. Using my iPod Touch, the sound is loud and clear enough to hear across the room. It's somewhat tinny, and distorts at top volume, but that's probably caused by the Touch rather than the speakers and can be avoided by keeping the volume down a notch.Get more detail about iHome iHM9PC Portable Stereo System for iPod, iPhone and MP3 Players (Pink).
