I'm become very skeptical about iPod battery units, I've tried more that have not worked than those that have. At first I thought this might be another dud, I plugged it in and got a message that recharging is not supported with the unit. I hit DISMISS, kept it connected and put on a movie. 45 minutes later there was no drop on the battery icon. So, you need to break this thing out before your tank runs dry, but that said it did the trick. The part where it works on conventional batteries was pretty smart, you could fly to Tokyo and watch movies the whole way.
