Unlike a more common, large 'grip pad' that you might put on the dash of your car, this pack comes with several small cutout pads of various sizes. You peel them off the backing and affix them to your phone, iPod, etc (anything w/ a smooth plastic, glass or metal backing). You can then put your device anywhere that also has a smooth surface and it won't budge. Be mindful that there is no adhesive on the pads, so you have to start w/ a clean, smooth surface in order for the pads to stick. They wash off easily w/ soap and water and become super-sticky once again. My phone originally had a matte black finish that would not stick to the pad at all, but after getting a plastic case for the phone it sticks like glue.
