I was looking for a unit to hold the iPod and charge it while in use. I hook mine up to an auxillary set up in dash (FM connections sound like crap if you go wireless).
Unit is a great idea, but does not live up to the claims. The unit will not hold an iPod upright, the electrical plug connector turns in your vehicle's electrical supply port keeping it from staying put - due to gravity and weight of iPod. The flexible arm is not really flexible, it merely moves about a bit from side to side.
I took mine apart (gasp) and purposely broke the tab which keeps the iPod portion from rotating, put it back together and use it upside down - thereby solving the unit turning problem. I bored a small hole on the right side bottom of the unit for my sound cord to plug into the bottom of the iPod. Now it works okay for my particular setup in a Ford F-150 pickup.
