The directions were good, but they did not work. I'm not stupid, and I built my own desktop computer from a bare bones kit, so I am good with tools and electronics. This kit needs a special tool to remove and replace the retainer clip. even if it had that tool (which it doesn't) when you replace the battery, the rubber gasket that holds the screen in place will get trashed, requiring a more expensive fix than sending your iPod out for a battery change.
If you buy this junky set, don't say I didn't tell ya!
