I thought this case was GREAT... at first. It was nice looking (especially for the price) and had the features I wanted (had a cover and said cover flipped UP not to the side, enough padding). Also, I didn't notice any smell. The last cover I purchased closed with a magnet -- which completely messed up my iPod. This one does use magnetic closure on the "snap", but at least it is to the back side of the cover and not sticking directly to the iPod body, so it is not interfering with my iPod.
However, if you will notice, the top layer of the leather just above the volume control... it is just flapping in the breeze. I wish it was attached at the corner above the volume controls because now it is so loose, the iPod is always slipping out. Especially when my children are using my iPod, which is when I need it protected the most!
