I love the aluminum case. It looks great and protects my ipod and has holes in all the right places for cords, etc. (unlike previous belt clip cases I have had). However, I have had it for only two months and the plastic belt clip broke off, just from normal use. They say, "Good things come in small packages". Well, this thing fell a little short. This could have been a very nice unit, however, I think RCA made it a little too small. The biggest complaint I have is that the FM radio signal comes in very poorly. Even the strongest FM radio stations fade in and out depending on the movement of the unit. If you can find a strong signal and keep the unit stationary, fine! But if you start moving it around or put it in your pocket and start moving around, the signal will come and go. Maybe if RCA integrated an antenna in the earbud headphones, the problem could have been be resolved, who knows.
Also, this unit comes with a removable "pocket clip" to clip the unit on your belt or pocket. My removable "pocket clip" (which is not attached to the radio unit when packaged) will not clip onto the radio unit itself. Hence, your can't clip it anywhere.

I've been trying to find an AC adapter to run my "old" 3rd generation ipod - the one with a click wheel and four round buttons. I purchased this item to listen to music from a stereo but found it would not charge my ipod, the remote control had no effect, and occasionally the ipod would freeze up until I removed it from the dock. A fellow on one of Apple's discussion forums recently expressed these same problems. Through plain old experimentation I found that the dock will work in every way if you power it up from an older style AC adapter that connects to the ipod with a Firewire to ipod cable. I suggest this (for the 3rd gen ipod) rather than the USB style cable and AC adapter that comes with the unit.
I am glad there's a way to use my older ipod as it still works well as a music player and with its 40 Gb capacity it can hold a good deal of music.
I like all Apple products very much, which makes it harder to give this product a full 5 stars as Apple has implied that their AV Connection Kit is compatible with my ipod. Here is the rundown:
Pros:
+Docked flawlessly with my iPod nano 5g.
+All buttons worked.
+Ability to have auxiliary input.
+Wake up bed shaker is a nice touch. (and it has a very long cord)
+Alarm is a beep that gets louder over time (and can be used in concordance with the bed shaker)
+Can customize both alarms to incorporate different alarm types (ie. Shaker and beep, shaker and playlist, etc)
Cons:
-Sound was absolutely unbearable with any bass (even with ipod EQ settings set to bass reducer)
-Wake up bed shaker is not as strong as I hoped it to be.
-Product "feels" cheap (thin plastic, cheap buttons).
-Time setting is clumsy and difficult, why not just have it sync to the atomic clock (my $15 walmart clock did that)
-There are two bass "holes" in the back that appear to do nothing (I don't hear anything coming from them)
-Many comparable docks have remotes included. This does not.
-The screen does not look like it does in the image. It has a bright blue backlight.
Bottom Line:
This is great if you want an alarm clock with multiple alarm features that will also charge your iPod. You should not get this if you want to listen to music on it.
Why I gave it 2 stars:

Li-Ion Replacement Battery for Apple iPod Video 60G / 80G Get it now!
I brought this a while ago and it's been installed in my iPod 5.5 Gen 80GB for about 3 months. I don't know specifically how it compares with Apple's original battery because I don't use my iPod as often and before this battery I listened to music. Now I watch videos, mostly. It's 850 mAh.
It's got great battery life. It does not lose its charge after sitting unused for 2-3 weeks like the original battery (normal, says Apple) so I suppose it has greater capacity.
The con: The battery has a plastic sticker wrapped around it with some info on it. If you rip this plastic wrap off, your warranty (1 year?) is void. Now, for my 80GB, there was no way the ribbon cable was long enough to reach into its little socket deep enough for the latch to lock it in place unless I ripped off the plastic to free an extra centimeter of ribbon. I remember twisting it every which way (and sweating bricks) but there's really no way. I don't see this battery giving out anytime soon though.

The Leather case is really good looking. It gave a completely new look to my Sansa e250. Keep in mind, with this leather case, pressing the buttons becomes a bit difficult. I don;t have very thick fingers still its difficult for me to press the buttons. Also the leather case I received doesn't have the headset pin hole at perfect position. While inserting the headset pin into my sansa I have to adjust the headset pin and pin hole in leather case.
The included screen protector was a surprise to me. Just a perfect thing. I applied a screen protector first time on any of my devices, and I could do it so easily. I am really happy about the screen protector.
Yes, the included headset can be gifted any kid. I really didn't like it. But it came free so I couldn't return it back ;)

I just bought the iHome IP9 from my local neighborhood Mac store and am loving it. I use it in my office to softly play music from my iPhone 3G. I have heard any interference from wireless traffic (EDGE or otherwise) and at the low volumes that I keep the unit at the music sounds great. I haven't tested any louder volumes.
The remote works well and allows complete control of the music on your iPhone. You can navigate through albums, playlists, etc. just as if you were on the iPhone yourself.
The unit comes with multiple 'inserts' for the docking slot. The manual mentions a few times to remove any cases or protective sleeves before docking your iPhone. I don't use any of the docking 'inserts' and am able to dock my iPhone with the rubber sleeve on. My iPhone is usually fully charged so I don't run into any heat issues when the iPhone is docked in the iHome unit. Since I don't use any inserts I do need to make sure that I don't push or pull on the iPhone and hinge the docking plug right off.

It took me a long time to fit my iphone 3G into the case. It also isnt very comfortable. That could be attributed to the fact that I have larger than normal arms (thank you Chuck Norris workout). Overall the player is very good.
Pros: Very durable...I dropped it in the pool and picked it up and toweled it off and it still works perfectly! Holds a good charge. Headphones fit me perfectly. Very small and light weight.
Cons: software that comes with it is kinda dumb...touch screen takes a bit to get used to...there should be an exterior volume control, you have to unlock the player and then use the touch screen to change the volume. I've almost hurt my ears because the I can't get back to the right screen so i can use the up/down buttons for volume control...
